A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to go to my first blogger event with fellow Edinburgh blogger and gal pal WearWhatWorks (hey hun). The event was the relaunch of Sesh Hairdressing to showcase their brand spanking new Salon nestled near the Shore in the heart of Leith. The evening began in Malmaison with one (or two) glasses of prosecco, the perfect setting to chat to other Edinburgh bloggers before we visited the new salon.
Post bubbles, we walked around the corner to Sesh, where we were greeted by their friendly staff and yet more fizz – result! At first glance I was struck by the clean, contemporary feel of the salon. The décor was minimalist and neutral. Simon, the owner of Sesh, later mentioned in his opening speech that one of the main desires for the new salon was to strip it the studio style images on the walls to focus solely on the salon itself. This is a real salon for real people, Simon wanted the focus to be on clients and their needs, providing them with their own, personal hair transformation.
The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable, I even got treated to my hair being curled with the new Hot Tools Curl Bar! After getting my hair did we had a nosey of the salon, the rooms are split between the chilled wash room and styling rooms. Although I opted to get some bouncy curls, guests could also get their hair blow dried by some of the stylists.
Sesh carry a range of products available for sale including Schwarzkopf. I got chatting to another stylist who asked me some questions about my hair and the products I use, based on my responses he was able to advise me on products that would suit me and how to use them. We received a goody bag with some samples of the products and I have to say I’m in love.
To me, Sesh embodied a high-end salon with a local, community atmosphere and that is exactly what I look for in a salon. I want my hair to be styled by knowledgeable staff trained on the latest trends but also in a place I can relax and have some craic in and that’s exactly what you’ll get in Sesh.
Safe to say I’ll be back to test out that blow-dry and stock up on some products. If you’re looking for great hair in Edinburgh, look no further than Leith.
Bye my lovelies,
P.S. This was not a sponsored post, I was just lucky enough to be invited along and thought I’d give you guys the inside scoop!
